Extract values from a raster to a table with ArcGIS

To extract values from one or more raster images to a table, the Extract Multi Values to Points tool is the one indicated. The operation is simple, extracts the values a cell, then registers the values in the attribute table of a predefined point layer.

It is very useful when we have a set of points in a given site, for example, in this case we have two different day precipitation rasters and a digital elevation model. It is now required to know precipitation and elevation values at different points within the study area.

To open the Extract Multi Values to Points tool, go to:

ArcToolbox > Spatial Analyst Tools > Extraction

  • Input point feature.- Enter the layer containing the points to be determined.
  • Input rasters.- Enter the raster images for which the information is required.

Finally, open the attributes table to check the values. If you only need to query the values of a single raster image you can use the Extract Values to Points tool.
