Working with Graphics in ArcGIS Pro

ArcGIS Pro enables the creation of graphics from both attribute tables and raster files, such as satellite imagery. This functionality allows for a graphical visualization of pixel values (also referred to as cells or grids) within a raster image, providing insights into the distribution of those values.

Creating a Histogram

The histogram tool is valuable for identifying trends or patterns in the raster data. It also helps in detecting outliers or anomalies that may be present within the image. Furthermore, histograms are useful for defining threshold values, which are essential for analyses such as image segmentation or supervised classification.

To create a histogram, the user can right-click on the raster layer, for example, the “NDVI_Sentinel2” raster that was previously generated. By selecting “Create Chart” followed by “Histogram,” the graph will illustrate the distribution of NDVI values across the raster.

The chart can be customized through the properties panel. Users can modify elements such as the chart title, axis labels, and formatting settings, allowing the graph to better represent the specific characteristics of the dataset.
